Paul Schmitt


Paul brings almost 30 years experience, developing, advising and managing captive vendor relationships to SFS.  Prior to forming SFS, Paul held senior management positions at banks (JP Morgan Chase and Dresdner), non-bank lenders (Newcourt and United States Leasing) and vendors (founding COO of Dell Financial Services).  Paul brings experience with limited partnerships, having organized both USEIF funds and Airlease, Ltd, an NYSE-listed Master Limited Partnership.

Paul received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Cornell University

Tom Stroud


Tom brings over 35 years of high technology expertise and success to SFS. Prior to joining SFS, Tom held senior management positions in sales, finance and marketing with Cisco Capital, Oracle, Pacific Access, Sun Microsystems, and Hewlett-Packard. Tom has consulted with Chevron, Levi Strauss, Shell and others; and was an instructor in the graduate program at University of San Francisco. Tom is a member of the Hoover Council at Stanford University and is an associate of SIEPR at Stanford University.

Tom attended Denison University, and received his B.A. in Economics, with distinction, from UC Santa Barbara.

William Vinnicombe


Bill brings over 25 years of high technology captive finance experience to SFS.  Prior to forming SFS, Bill held senior  management positions with industry leading companies – including American Express Equipment Finance, Newcourt Financial USA, Chase Manhattan Leasing, US Leasing and GE Capital.  Following graduate school, Bill's first exposure to the captive finance business was through Hewlett-Packard.

Bill received his M.B.A. from The Anderson School at UCLA and his B.S. from UC Davis
